Why rwanda?

Rwanda’s position on the Human Development Index (HDI) currently stands at 165 out of 191. To address this, SRHIN has initiated a development program in Rwanda that emphasises women’s empowerment, safeguarding against gender-based violence, and promoting sexual and reproductive health using an innovation-centred approach.

Through the help of our partners, we have successfully implemented 8 projects in 6 regions in Rwanda

Project Features

The WASH Project

The WASH PROJECT targets to train school children in hand hygiene and good hand-washing practices, and empower them with entrepreneurial skills in the local production of hand-washing items such as hand wash (liquid soap) and hand sanitizers. This is to support global efforts in preventing the spread of infectious diseases through health education, sensitization, and other innovative means of encouraging healthy behavior and practices among individuals and communities.

A total of 400 school children have so far benefited from this project.

The SIMBIHealth Project

The SIMBIHealth app is Africa’s flagship artificial intelligence-driven innovation that delivers comprehensive sexual, mental and social health education.

SimbiHealth is an innovative sexual, mental and social health project that shatters religious, social and cultural barriers that prevents access to comprehensive sexual and mental health information services in Rwanda and Africa at large.

Through the SimbiHealth App we are creating a generation of young people who are empowered with evidence based and comprehensive sexual and mental health information.
